I DID IT!

I finally ordered my first batch of business cards for Emie Jane's Baby Cakes.
Mr. P and my incredible friends are always helping me get the word out about my little business and it's about time I finally helped myself.

Next up, with a little encouragement from my one of my Chel Belle, I'm going to finally start building a website.

I'm hoping, sooner rather than later, to expand Emie Jane's and have a steady flow of orders coming in. Such a lovely thought! :)

*My cards will be even cuter in person and I promise to post pics once they arrive.

In my friend, I find a second self.

So thankful the paths I chose in life led me to a forever best friend.
One of my biggest hopes is that this 31st year of your life brings you immense Joy.
Happy Birthday June Buggie!

today.

4 legged son woke up with a tummy ache.
Hubs and I suspect it may have been all the 'pupcorn', found in the back of the pantry, that we treated him to yesterday. Oops...sorry for that son.
Anyways, Mr. P suggested we embark on a walk, cup of joe in hand, because well it's much better for him to expel whatever it is that made him sick anywhere other than our backyard.
TMI?
We aren't bad people, promise, our walks always take place back behind the homes in empty fields where poo can happily rot away.

WHAT IS WITH ME THIS MORNING? No more dirty talk, promise.

Plans for today...a walk with son in Birkdale to get frozen yogurt, watching the NCAA tournament games, working out and finally enjoying a steak salad and a summery beer on our back patio.
Me, I'm pretty darn happy.

Hope everyone has a happy weekend and I'll see you back here Monday for Weekend Photos.

fluctu'weight'ion.

Saturday, while in Virginia, the gals and I were primping and preparing to head out...
Since I forgot my robe and I wasn't going to walk around naked while getting ready, I put on my most comfy pair of lounge pants and a soft fitted tee I'd recently picked up from the clearance rack at Target.
While drying my hair I glanced at myself in the full length mirror and almost had a panic attack.
Where did this soft pudgy body come from?
Hadn't hubs and I just won a weight loss/body fat competition just months before?
Maybe it's the multiple cupcakes I'd been consuming or the weekends filled with non stop eating?
Regardless the reason, it was the kick in the big bum I needed.
I came home completely motivated to shed the extra weight and be a healthier person.
I picked up some Epsom Sea Salt Monday and drew myself a bath hoping to rid the toxins...no joke I felt like a new person after soaking for 15 minutes.
Now I've put myself on a 1000 calorie diet and I'm hoping to work out at least 5 times a week.
The plan is to be bikini ready by late May...I'll let you know how it goes. ;)

this weekend.

Once upon a time I decided I would attend Virginia Tech.
Once there I decided I'd join a sorority.
Once in Alpha Chi Omega Lauren became my big sister, one of my first real friends and soon thereafter the person who introduced me to my husband.

Years later she is still one of my best friends (even after getting kicked out of aforementioned sorority for being too much of a wild child) and in less than 7 months she will marry her best friend.

Tomorrow morning sistah and Rebekah (nickname TBD) will join me on a roadtrip to the DC area for an engagement party celebrating the couple and the gals will do what they do best (hair & makeup) for a pre-wedding trial on Miss Lauren.

I hope you have lots of fun plans this weekend lovelies.
I'll see you on the flip.

dinner.

It occured to me that I hadn't done a recipe post in awhile and that's in large part because Mr. P and I have been eating lots of the same thing.

Our new recent fav is a healthier version of Micky D's Egg McMuffin.

Thomas makes a light multi-grain english muffin with 100 calories and 8 grams of fiber.
Top that with a *perfectly cooked over medium egg, a thick slice of ham and a slice of reduced fat american cheese and you have yourself one decently healthy, very scrumptious meal.

Last week we had that exact same meal 4 days in a row.
I served it alongside a **fruit salad made with fruit leftover from when I made sangria.

*I really feel I've mastered the perfectly cooked egg and I think my husband would agree.
Make sure you have your skillet heated to med-high heat, add a big tablespoon of butter (we use Brummel and Brown because it's healthier ), crack in your eggs (I do 2 at a time), sprinkle on fresh cracked pepper and sea salt, then cook 2 minutes per side or until the yolk is the consistency you like.

**To jazz up a fruit salad add a few splashes of your favorite orange juice and some brown sugar. This tip courtesy of the one, the only Mama San.

babies.

Thanks to the Bleubird Blog and her adorable baby whom she calls 'birdie' I've recently become obsessed with all things baby.
So much so that I've created a bookmark folder entitled 'bambino/a' so I can safely store every article of clothing and nursery decoration I won't be able to live without some day.

Here are some recent favs:

1. cotton petal hair clips 2. custom owl creatures 3. baby moccasins 4. mohawk hat

1. owl mobile 2. amber teething necklace 3. freckled woodland bear

*I'm tempted to go ahead and order those baby moccasins in every color I adore them so much.

Goodnight lovelies.
